Training Ride Reopening arrangements from Monday 11th October

11 Oct 2021

The PCC Executive are keen to open up training rides for members from Monday 11th of October. To achieve this we must follow the NSW Government reopening guidelines.

The club has also been in contact with AusCycling who have in turn clarified NSW Regulations as below.

The NSW Government has announced that from today restrictions will ease across NSW according to the 70 per cent Reopening NSW Roadmap in line with the Public Health Order. AusCycling has sought clarification from the NSW Government on current restrictions and we would like to share the following guidelines at this time:

There have also been some changes to our road calendar for the remainder of the 2021 season which I would like to share with you:

30-31st October: AusCycling Junior Road State Championships – New South Wales:

AusCycling and Newcastle Hunter Cycling Club (NHCC) have confirmed our plans to host the NSW state junior road championships on 30–31 October. Entries are now open for the COVID-safe event at Hunter Economic Zone, Kurri Kurri, which will mark the return to racing after a four-month lockdown in NSW. We ask kindly for your assistance in promoting this event to your club’s junior members by sharing this article: Link here

13-14th November: AusCycling Masters Road State Championships – New South Wales:

These Championships will now take place in Gunning on 13–14 November alongside the Elite Championship events, thanks to host club Goulburn CC. This does mean that regrettably the Masters Championships won’t take place in Singleton at the end of October as previously scheduled. The short timeframe after the easing of restrictions, as well as several other factors means that despite extensive efforts by AusCycling, Singleton Council and other stakeholders, we’ve had to move the date and venue. We are now working hard to finalise the event schedule and we will share along with entry information in due course via the event page on our website.

5th December: Southern Hemisphere Cup

This event has been moved from it’s usual November date to December 5th due to venue availability. Full details will become available via the event page shortly

Based on the Government Guidelines the PCC is proposing the following.

Having reached the 70% double vaccination target, the NSW Government has announced that from Monday 11th if you are fully vaccinated you can participate in an outdoor public gathering of up to 20 people. We will be restarting club training rides from this week for fully vaccinated people in riding groups of up to 20 people. For the Saturday universe ride this may mean splitting groups. We will be relying on the honesty of our members and associates so please don’t turn up if you don’t have evidence of you having the double jab. Based on the Government's current reopening plan we expect these restrictions will be loosened once the 80% double vaccination target is reached.
