As you may be aware the NSW State Government has commissioned the construction of a new public and active transport bridge to link Melrose Park to Wentworth Point across the Parramatta River as part of the early works for

Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2

This has required a detour of the Parramatta Valley Cycleway for the past few months as follows:

Owing to works requiring road closures on Mary St and Wharf Rd, the Parramatta Valley Cycleway will be temporarily re-opened from Friday 4 July 2025 to late January 2026. Upon completion of these works, the above detour will be reinstated, likely for about 24 – 36 months for construction of the bridge.

Notices will be provided on-site.

Traffic control will be in place to guide construction traffic at the southern end of Wharf Rd and the Parramatta Valley Cycleway crossing of Wharf Rd

We would appreciate if you would communicate this to your members and ask their co-operation with traffic controllers on-site.

Thanking you,

Michael Kolos
