Grafton to Inverell Race Report By Isacc Nguyen

25 Mar 2026

The race was super punchy from the start and never really settled, Team Brennan and Ccache Bodywrap were super hesitant for any move to go up the road as they didn't want a Warny repeat. I thought I rode the Gibraltar quite well, trying to position myself ahead of the Brennan train. However this made for a lot of pushing and shoving the entire climb. In the crosswinds with about 60 odd k to go, I mistakenly went back for bottles just as the echelons were starting in the crosswinds. I thought I could latch onto the back of Pat Eddy, however I went too far into the red.

I ended up with 32nd overall, and 2nd best individual rider finishing the 228km in 5:50. Whilst I'm frustrated with the ending, it was a great learning experience for me. I did record a video in Inverell, but I must've been a little fatigued and forgot to press record on my phone (my apologies).

Thank you again for the support. Without such a great club, I doubt I would've made it up there.
