Support PCC Rider Matt Shields in Zoo to Zoo Ride
16 Aug 2014
I am taking part in the Zoo to Zoo MTB ride and my goal is to raise as many funds as possible for the Black Dog Institute.
The Black Dog Institute is a world leader in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder.
One in five Australians are affected by mental illness every year, with one of the most common of these being depression. It touches people of all ages and from all walks of life, and places an enormous burden on individuals, families, workplaces and the health system.
Events like the Zoo to Zoo MTB ride is a great way of raising public awareness.
I will be a member of 20 riders undertaking a 2 day Mountain Bike ride that starts from Canberra's National Zoo and Aquarium and ends at the Mogo Zoo on the beautiful south coast. Travelling 200 kms to raise awareness for mental health services.
